Abstract

John Argyropoulos was a famous Greek scholar of the fifteenth century, whose contribution in classical letters and philosophy was praised by his fellow humanists. He shared his time between Constantinople, Crete, mainland Greece, Italy, and other European countries. Argyropoulos’ career in Constantinople and Italy was remarkable, as his teaching and broader scientific activities in both these places were admirable and of top quality. Argyropoulos was a leading fifteenth-century Aristotelian philosopher. His research focused on Aristotle’s natural philosophy and ethics.
