Abstract

This entry focuses on the Renaissance work of German Kantian philosopher of the human sciences Wilhelm Dilthey (1833–1911). Emphasis is placed on Dilthey’s original works on the Renaissance, his formative influences, and his impact on Renaissance philosophy scholarship in the German-speaking world. Included in the entry are his interlocutors in Renaissance philosophy scholarship. Also included in the entry is the review work of Renaissance material that Dilthey wrote over the course of his academic career.
