Abstract

The main objectives of this chapter are to address the importance of space security in Poland, as mainly demonstrated through the activities of the Polish Space Agency (POLSA). This agency has played an important role in the Space Situational Awareness (SSA) program for safety and security purposes. Poland decided to put in place an SSA system as part of the national and regional security law and policy. The proper implementation of the SSA program is necessary for all states. Poland, as a full member of the European Space Surveillance and Tracking (SST) Consortium, is willing to participate in European projects. Thus, the regional and multilateral cooperation in this matter is crucial.
