Monotonic constraints


A constraint C is monotone if and only if for all itemsets S and S′:
$$\begin{aligned} \mathrm{if}\, S\supseteq \, &{S}^{\prime}\, \mathrm{and}\, S\, \mathrm{violates}\, C,\, \mathrm{then}\, {S}^{\prime}\, \\ &\mathrm{violates}\, C.\end{aligned} $$
