Definition

HTML is a markup language, which has been developed specifically for the creation of Web pages. The current versions use HTML only for structuring the Web pages and for their content. Layout is specified solely using CSS. HTML is a text file that contains tags which are used to assign functions to texts. For example, <p> specifies that the subsequent text is a paragraph. An HTML feature is that you can create references between Web pages as well as within a Web page. With the development of HTML5, JavaScript is gaining more and more importance for the interaction and manipulation of Web pages.
