The Test of Narrative Language – Second Edition (TNL-2) is designed to assess the ability of an individual in understanding and relating stories from and to communication partners. Linking to the collective understanding of the development of narrative language and correlation to success in other aspects of communication, such as literacy, the TNL-2 supports the examiner in assessing comprehension and expression of three types of narratives: scripts, personal narratives, and fictional narratives. The TNL-2 is normed for individuals age 4 years 0 months through 15 years 11 months and includes visual stimuli for six tasks which include a comprehension and production task for each of the three types of narratives. Additionally, with the exception of the script narrative, different topics are presented for the types of narratives.
