Pigment Red 57 (15850). Azo pigment made by diazotizing paratoluidine-meta-sulfonic acid, and coupling with 3-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid. Pigment is used as the calcium salt. Most frequently encountered in the resinated form, it is characterized by its distinctly brilliant deep masstone and its blue intense tint.
