n Coating wherein the light scattering characteristics are derived partially or wholly from small bubbles or microvoids in a transparent binder. The air-filled or vapor-saturated voids having diameters in the range of the wavelength of light, are trapped in a water soluble medium such as soya protein. This type of coating has a low specific weight and high lightness. See Microvoids.
