\ hwēt- stōn, wēt-, chiefly British –stәn-\ n [Sir Charles Wheatstone] (1872) If the resistances, r 1, r 2, r 3, and r 4 form the arms of a Wheatstone's bridge in order as the circuit (omitting cell and galvanometer connections) is traced, when the bridge is balanced,
