Wet Spinning

The process of forming synthetic fibers by extruding or forcing polymers through spinnerets. In wet spinning the polymer is dissolved in a solvent prior to extrusion. Also, in wet spinning, the jet or spinneret is immersed in a liquid, which either diffuses throughout the solvent or reacts with the fiber composition.
