\▐rō-dә-▐mēn\ n [ISV] (1888) Any of a class of organic dyes that exhibit bright orange to red fluorescent colors when viewed under ultraviolet light. An interesting characteristic is that in vinyl compound, the color shade is dependent on the degree of fusion. Thus, they can be used as indicators of fusion completeness.
