The American Foundation for Aging Research (AFAR) promotes and supports research and education that will elucidate the basic processes involved in the biology of aging and age associated disease, by awarding scholarships and fellowships to young, motivated scientists.
Dr Vincent Cristofalo Memorial Fund, Cecille Gould Memorial Fund Award in Cancer Research, Richard Shepherd Fellowship, Agris-Rokaw Fellowship Award
Subjects: Aging and cancer research.
Purpose: To encourage young people to pursue research in age-related health problems and the biology of aging.
Eligibility: Open to graduates enrolled in degree programmes such as MS, PhD, MD or DDS at institutions within the United States of America. Must be conducting cellular, molecular or genetic research on aging or age-related illnesses such as cancer, diabetes or Alzheimer’s. Sociological and psychological research is not accepted in these programmes.
Level of Study: Doctorate, Graduate, Postgraduate

Value: US$1,000 per semester or summer
