A condition in which the natural energy reserve, stored in the fatty tissue of humans, exceeds healthy limits. It is commonly defined as a body mass index of 30 kg m-2 or higher. BMI of 25–29 is overweight, BMI of 30–39 is obese, BMI > 40 is morbidly obese.
