Definition

A person who has left his or her native country, to live in a different place, for a variety of reasons. There is some overlapping between the categories of refugee and migrant: in some cases, social inequalities might stimulate migration, but in general, migrants do not share the fear of persecution or the experience of past mistreatment that refugees experience.
