Cardiac procedure involving the selective destruction of targeted areas within the heart in order to terminate or prevent an arrhythmia. Areas in the heart critical to arrhythmia occurrence are targeted and a catheter introduced through a peripheral artery or vein is used to deliver destructive energy (e.g., radiofrequency or cryothermal) to those locations.
