This site is located in eastern New South Wales, Australia. The core protection area covers 10,326.49 km2 and includes sandstone plateaus, steep slopes, and canyon landforms. Nearly the entire area contains temperate eucalyptus forests. The eight protected areas covered by the site strongly reflect the unique evolution and species variation of the eucalyptus forest after the separation of the continent from Gondwana. The area contains 91 species of eucalyptus.
