Gravel is a collection of rock or mineral fragments with a particle size larger than 2 mm that have been transported by water and mixed. Based on the average grain size, gravels can be divided into boulders, coarse gravel and fine gravel. After transportation, gravels are deposited in foothill or piedmont areas and then consolidate into conglomerate or breccia (Fig. 36).
