The composition of granitic gneiss is similar to that of granitic rocks. It is a deep metamorphic rock with a typical gneiss structure. It has many petrological characteristics of gneiss, and there are three genetic types: (1) gneiss that is formed by regional metamorphism; (2) gneiss that is formed by migmatization; and (3) gneiss that is formed by the tectonic stresses from an orogeny. Therefore, studying the origin of granitic gneiss is a key to revealing the tectonic environment and geological evolution process.
