Revalidation of global geoparks refers to the assessment of every global geopark by the executive board of UNESCO Global Geoparks every 4 years. The performance of the geopark is assessed by an expert team assigned by the executive board. A progress report (Form A) and geopark assessment form (Form B) is to be filled out by the geopark authorities and revalidated by GGN. The result can be either a pass (green card), a request for improvement within 2 years (warning or yellow card) or a failure (red card), which means being delisted from the Global Geoparks Network.
