This is a landscape composed of a U-shaped notch in a ridge or slope on the side of a glacial valley. When a glacier occupies a U-shaped valley, plucking and abrasion on the ridge or slope can result in a glacial spillway. After the glacier melts, the spillway hangs above the ridge or the valley slope.
