This is a geomorphic landscape that is formed by erosion and deposition during the life cycle of glaciers. Glacial landforms include glacial erosional features, such as U-shaped valleys, horn peaks, aretes, cirques, roche moutonnees and ice-scoured depressions; glacial depositional features, such as lateral moraines, medial moraines, basal moraines, ground moraines and terminal moraines; and fluvioglacial depositional features, such as drumlins, kames, outwash fans and moulins. All of these landform features are parts of glacial remains landscapes, and studies of these glacial relics can facilitate the understanding of the patterns of ancient glacial activity and climate change. Glacial remains landscapes have high value for scientific studies, research and aesthetics, and they are important tourism resources.
