Areal types are geographical units composed of regions or units with similar development conditions, production structures, development characteristics and patterns in a given natural geographical and historical environment. These geographic units are relatively stable. Different tourist areas in the same geographical area often have similar types and structures of tourism resources and are mutually substitutable. Large tourist areas or tourist routes may also include several geographic types.
