This is an area where visitors to a geopark can assemble, purchase tickets, hire guides, take shuttle buses, cable cars or boats, make reservations for other activities, and obtain tour and route information or information about the natural, ecological and cultural details of the geopark. Catering, shopping, hiring and toilet facilities are also available for the convenience of visitors. This type of service area is usually called a visitor or information centre, and it is typically located near the main entrance of the geopark or the major scenic attraction, where there is a sufficient flow of people. This area is a basic requirement of geopark planning.
