This refers to a system that monitors the natural environment, including potential geohazards, the conditions of park facilities, tourist safety and activities, traffic conditions, and illegal developments and activities. Three types of monitoring systems are available in a geopark: geological heritage protection systems, environmental protection systems and tourist management systems. This monitoring equipment is installed at major park entrances, gates, sensitive boundaries, important geosites, key ecological protection areas, forests, assembly venues and potential geohazard sites. They are also used to monitor the weather and environmental changes that may threaten tourist safety and to prevent damage to valuable geological heritage by nature and humans.
