These reserves are areas used to preserve aboriginal history and culture. They are designated when the area in which aboriginal people live is large, and it is difficult to relocate them. Development is restricted because the main purpose of these reserves is preservation. Assistance is needed to help aboriginals transform from traditional agricultural, forestry, and mining activities to service industries associated with the tourism development of the geopark.
