GIS technology can be used to establish a digital geological heritage management platform. Information about each geological heritage site, including its name, location, outcrops, characteristics, description, maps and pictures, is recorded and put into the database for reference, analysis and planning. The data can also be used for better control and management of the geopark, and they can be shared with geoparks or provincial and national geological surveys for other research.
