Fuyun Cocoatuohai National Geopark, Xinjiang

This geopark is located in Fuyun County in the Altai Area, which is north of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is the source of the Eerqisi River. The elevations in the geopark vary from 1,155 to 2,695 m. It became a national geopark in 2005. The unique geomorphologic landscapes of the geopark include typical deposits of rare metals, the Koktokay granite pegmatite, the Erqisi River granite stocks, Gobi (desert), and Kalaxianger earthquake relics. The geopark has two main scenic districts, namely, Ilaymu Lake and the Kalaxianger.
