Environmental degradation is the process of reverse environmental development that causes destruction and degradation of the Earth’s ecological environment. It has occurred since the industrial revolution due to over-exploitation of natural resources, industrial pollution, urbanisation and other human activities, resulting in environmental and soil degradation, air, water and noise pollution, acid rain, ozone depletion and reduced biodiversity.
