An earthquake avalanche landscape is a landscape of seismic features. It is composed of a collapsed body or material from slope collapses induced by earthquakes. In general, earthquakes with a Richter magnitude of 7 and above can induce massive collapses. A collapse of earth is called a mudslide, and a collapse of rock is known as a rock slide. Large-scale collapses are called landslides. The earthquakes on 12 May 2008 in Wenchuan caused massive landslides. In particular, the collapsed rock on the Douwen Road-Laohujui Road section formed a 300-m-long dam with a volume of 40,000 m3 that caused the river level to rise by 19 m.
