This geopark is located approximately 180 km northwest of Dunhuang City, Gansu Province. The geological remains are the Yadang landform, which was formed by wind erosion. It became a national geopark in 2002. A variety of unique wind-eroded landforms can be found in the park. At night, the wind whistles and howls, and so the area gets the name ‘The Devil City’. The park attracts countless explorers to explore the mysteries of its unique desert scenery, various Yadang geomorphic features, and ancient folk tales.
