This geopark is located in Shuyang County on the northern bank of the Minjiang River in Anhui Province. It was approved as a national geopark in 2002. The Fushan volcanic landform is a typical collapsed volcanic depression. It is an ancient volcano that has been extinct for millions of years. It experienced numerous eruptions during the Jurassic (200 million to 145 million years ago) to the early Cretaceous (140 million years ago), which created fascinating volcanic landscapes, such as compound domes, craters, cones, volcanic slag (pumice) and lava flows, ring fractures, radial fractures, and turtle cracks.
