Zhashui Karst Cave Geopark, Shanxi

This cave geopark is located in Zhashui County, Shangluo City, Shaanxi Province. It has a total area of 140 km2, and the most important geological features are concentrated in an area of 70 km2. It became a national geopark in 2011. It has three scenic districts: Zhashui Karst Cave, Jiutian Mountain and Fenghuang Ancient Town. There are also attractive caves, such as Tianfo Cave, Wind Cave and Baishen Cave, as well as a typical lithofacies profile of the Devonian Shiwengzi Daoling Formation, which is a provincial nature protection site. Other features include the peak cluster of Jiutian Mountain, which is composed of Jiutian Xiaomoling diamictite, waterfalls, river terraces, and small to medium geological structures. Its karst caves, typical lithofacies profiles and the Xiaomoling diamictite are important reference locations in China.
