Yichun Granite Stone Forest National Geopark is located in northern Xiaoxing’anling, Tangwanghe, Yichun, Heilongjiang, and it has an area of 302 km2. In March 2004, it was approved by the Ministry of Land and Resources as one of the third group of national geoparks. It is characterised by geological landscapes of Indosinian granites, including stone forest landscapes composed of large joints in different formations as well as fault valleys, rockfalls and accumulations in depressions, fissures, cave springs and granite landscapes formed by weathering. There are also other geological features, such as glacial blockfields, forest wetlands on granite bodies, and the unconformity between the Fengshantun Formation and granite.
