Yellow-Brown Earth

Synonym: Yellow brown soil

Yellow-brown earth is slightly acidic soil that forms in sub-tropical deciduous broadleaf forests and evergreen broadleaf mixed forests through weak aluminization and clayification. It is yellowish brown to brown and is a transitional soil between yellow earth, red earth and brown earth. Yellow-brown soil can generally be found in the low-lying and hilly areas along both sides of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
