Yellow River Stone

The Yellow River originates in Qinghai and flows through nine provinces (Sichuan, Gansu, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan and Shandong). As it flows between the mountain ridges, the water moves large numbers of stone pieces, which are deposited in the riverbed to become Yellow River stones. The main types include Qinghai Yellow River source stones, Lanzhou Yellow River stones, Ningxia Yellow River stones, Inner Mongolia Yellow River stones and Luoyang Yellow River stones. Yellow River stones include various igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks. These rocks are imposing, have different shapes and clear textures, striking colours, moist lustres and smooth lines. Most are painting stones, which can be further divided into pattern stones, character stones, colour stones, and fauna fossils.
