The Yangjia fluorite deposit is one of China’s largest fluorite deposits and is located in northeastern Wuyi County, Zhejiang Province. The ore field contains more than 20 medium to large fluorite mines, such as Yangjia, Houshu, and Yushantou, more than 40 small fluorite mines, and 140 mining locations. The proven fluorite reserves amount to 17 million tons. The ore body consists of veins and lenses in Upper Jurassic and Lower Cretaceous acidic to moderately acidic volcanic rocks. The deposit was formed by the settlement of mid- to low-temperature hydrothermal fluids in fissures after the magmatic period. The major ore components are fluorite and quartz, which form two ore types – fluorite and quartz-fluorite ores.
