This park is located in eastern Yanchuan County near the borders with Shaanxi Province and Shanxi Province. It starts in Yanshuiguan in the north and extends to Qingshuiwan in the south, with a total area of 86 km2. It became a national geopark in 2005. The major geological attractions of the geopark are its river landscapes, such as deep gorges, Shequ (meandering rivers), river terraces and waterfalls. The Yanchuan Yellow River Meander Bends originate in the Qin Jin Grand Canyon and are large incised meanders. They make up the largest, most well-developed and concentrated meander group of all of the major river channels in China.
