This is the most famous spring in China. It is located in Xiaotangshan Town in the eastern Changping District, Beijing. The water-bearing strata of this hot spring are the Neoproterozoic dolomite below the loose Quaternary strata. This hot spring is related to faults, and the temperature is generally 40–60 °C and can reach 76 °C. The spring water is light yellow and very clear. It has a sweet taste because it contains traces of strontium, barium, boron, iodine and radon (Fig. 4).
