Wu’an National Geopark is located in the central-southern part of the eastern slope of the Taihang Mountains in northwestern Wu’an County, Hebei Province. The geopark covers an area of 183 km2. It became a national geopark in 2005 and is famous for its peaks, precipices, and gorges composed of Proterozoic red quartzite. It also contains Quaternary basalt, water body landscapes and the ancient cultural landscape of Wudang Mountain. It is the setting of Chaoyanggou, a famous Henan opera. The geopark consists of several scenic areas, including Jingniang Lake, Wudang Mountain, the Qibugou, the Motianling-Logevity Village, the Chaoyanggou, the Baicaoping and the Lotus Cave.
