In accordance with the World Heritage Convention, world cultural heritage, which is “of outstanding universal value, in line with the principles of authenticity and integrity, and under the management framework of effective protection, refers to the cultural heritage inscribed on the World Heritage List after being nominated by state parties to the Convention, inspected and reviewed by experts from ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites) specially invited by UNESCO, and finally approved by voting of the World Heritage Committee at its annual session”. Article 1 of the World Heritage Convention classifies cultural heritage into monuments, groups of buildings and sites.
