Based on regional faults and sedimentation, volcano-tectonic depressions are composed of groups of several volcanoes. They are a kind of basin-like volcano cluster that forms due to regional tectonic and volcanic activities. This type of volcano-tectonic depression is present in Tonglu and Xinchang in Zhejiang Province. They have been called volcanic basins in previous studies.
