Vegetation refers to the total population of plant communities in an area. Vegetation is closely related to natural environmental factors such as climate, landforms, soil, animals and hydrology. From a global perspective, vegetation can be divided into two categories, namely, marine vegetation and terrestrial vegetation. Algae dominate the green vegetation in marine vegetation, and the productivity is low. The dominant terrestrial vegetation is seed plants, and different vegetation types form due to the differences in the terrestrial environment. Vegetation can also be divided into natural and artificial vegetation. Natural vegetation is a product of the long-term development of plants in an area. Artificial vegetation includes farmland, orchards, pastures, plantations, and urban green spaces.
