Industries and economic activities discharge harmful substances, which poison the air and pollute water and soils. In particular, people that work and live in mining and urban areas experience lower quality environments, and they have a pressing need for clean air and an unpolluted and pleasant environment after work or when they have holidays. Tourist destinations with clean air have therefore become important nature-based tourism resources.
