Tourism earth science commodities are commercial tourism products with geological connotations that meet the needs of visitors. Examples are precious stones, jades, ink-stones and handicrafts polished and processed from minerals and rocks as well as unprocessed natural stones with aesthetic and commemorative value. In a broader sense, they should also include mineral water, hot springs, geotourism routes, and audio-visual products that popularise earth science. Unlike other commercial tourist products, tourism earth science commodities contain rich earth science characteristics. They can be used as specimens and research materials for learning earth science in addition to their normal usage or appreciation. Tourism earth science commodities should be designed according to their local characteristics.
