A tornado is a tunnel-shaped cloud extending from a cumulonimbus cloud to the ground. A tornado is generated under the most unstable weather with powerful atmospheric convection. The wind speed can reach grade 12 or higher on the Beaufort Wind Scale. Tornados are usually accompanied by thunderstorms, torrential rain and hailstorms and have great destructive power.
