Tengchong Volcano National Geopark, Yunnan

This geopark is located in Tengchong County and Lianghe County in southwestern Yunnan Province. It became a national geopark in 2002. It is characterised by volcanic relics and geothermal springs. The geopark contains 97 volcanoes and many types of volcanic cones. There are also lava platforms, ring craters, lava caves, lava flows and primary joint structures. The pyroclastic materials include volcanic bombs, breccia, volcanic ash, pumice and volcanic scoria. The 124 geothermal sites and hot springs are additional interesting attractions.
