Structural geology is a branch of geology that focuses on the tectonic phenomena, patterns, formation and development processes of the geological bodies that make up the lithosphere. It includes studies of the geometric shapes, occurrence, patterns, combinations, spatial relations and development of geological structures to explore the formation, orientation, intensity and dynamics of these structures. The main objective is to identify and describe different types of tectonic deformation and displacements of medium- to small-scale geological bodies, such as folds, fractures, facets, joints, cleavage and bedding, in specific areas. It involves conducting surveys of the form and occurrence of these structures, drawing and using cameras to analyse and determine their formation processes.
