Stone Ring Landscape

This is a landscape of permafrost. In flat periglacial ground mixed with coarse and fine materials, freezing and thawing will cause the soil and fine gravel to gather in the middle, while the larger stones are pushed outwards to form a ring or polygon, and such feature looks artificial. This feature is called a stone ring (Fig. 44).
