A sill is also called a sheet and is a tabular magma intrusion that has intruded between layers of rocks (rock strata) and is concordant (uniformly distributed) with the rock strata. Sills are generally thin but have large areal extents. Basic and ultrabasic rocks are commonly associated with sills.
