Sauropterygia or Sauropterygians

Sauropterygians were aquatic amphibians. They adapted to living in the water and had long necks and strong short limbs. They flourished during the Triassic. Typical examples are the Guizhousaurus, Plesiosaurus and typical marine-type Himalayasaurus and Chaohusaurus.
